Sheahan lab represented at International Colic Symposium

Dr. Sheahan and Dr. Haywood attended the International Colic Symposium in Edinburgh, UK this year. Dr. Haywood presented an oral presentation on her research on a novel virus found in some cases of equine colitis, and Dr. Sheahan presented a poster on RNA sequencing of tissues from colitis cases. CVM Intramural Grant is awarded to study a novel virus associated with equine colitis in North Carolina

The Sheahan lab has been awarded a grant for the following proposal: “Determining the role of a newly discovered equine kirkovirus in equine colitis”.  This project is the brain child of Dr. Lilly Haywood, a PhD student in the lab. Congrats Lilly!
